This Gauge is located right at the bottom of San Antonio Falls. This means that most of the water is on the surface. This is due to the fact that the water had just gone over bedrock when it was coming over the falls. So when it hits the alluvium at the bottom of the falls, the water really does not have time to absorb into the ground before it is meassured.
